Boiler not working

Problem:

The boiler isn’t working.

Diagnosis:

This is usually caused by one of three things, unless there is a more severe problem; an expert would help you diagnose.  Possible causes are:

  • Thermostat could be set too low to actually trigger the boiler to work.
  • The timer may not be working if you’ve planned for the boiler to work at a particular time.
  • The gas boiler’s pilot light could have gone out.  This is common in homes that have their gas supply on a meter.

Hot water doesn’t last long – no hot water

Problem:

No hot water.  Sometimes the problem may be a low amount of hot water available.  This is a common enough problem that presents itself more clearly whilst in the shower.

Diagnosis:

This is often caused by the build up of sediment in the hot water tank, not allowing the tank to fill with hot water.  It can also be caused by other defective plumbing parts.

Call EPM to arrange a visit.
