Diagnosis:

This is often caused by the build up of sediment in the hot water tank, not allowing the tank to fill with hot water.  It can also be caused by other defective plumbing parts.

Hot water tap runs slow and then stops.

Problem:

Hot water tap runs slow and then stops.

Diagnosis:

This sounds an awful lot like an airlock problem.  If you have air in the hot water system then this will happen.  You will need to get all the air out of your hot water/heating system and the best way to get this done is to call a professional.  Many people try to do this themselves and end up losing pressure in their system, causing other problems.
